Dietro al nome Van Orton Design ci sono Stefano e Marco, una coppia di illustratori torinesi. Giocattoli, fumetti, poster e cappellini: mettere piede nella loro casa-studio è come entrare nella macchina del tempo, in quello che è un vero e proprio tributo all’immaginario ludico e cinematografico degli ultimi decenni.
Tra memorabilia e citazioni di Terminator, Robocop e Super Mario Bros, è evidente quanto la loro arte sia stata influenzata dalla cultura pop statunitense. I gemelli Van Orton Design hanno esordito reinterpretando le icone dei film cult degli anni ’80: un ottimo trampolino di lancio in termini di visibilità, perché da quel momento sono stati contattati da Espn, Marvel, Sky, Sisley e Universal, oltre che da artisti del calibro di Jovanotti. Attualmente espongono per diverse gallerie americane, tra Los Angeles e San Francisco.
