The exhibition FELLINI. CIAO MAESTRO, from 31 October, presents a series of works dedicated to films that have made the name “Fellini” synonymous with absolute cinematic excellence.
FELLINI: DREAM OR REALITY?
Fellini. Ciao Maestro is in conjunction with several occasions related to Federico Fellini: 2023 does not mark only the 30 years since the death of the director from Rimini, but also the 50 years since the release of Amarcord – a film with such a deep meaning to give rise to a neologism still in use today – and the 60 years since 8 and ½, considered one of Fellini’s masterpieces and one of the best films of all time
FROM POLAND WITH WONDER
A unique opportunity to retrace the great stories staged by the creative genius of Federico Fellini and re-proposed in an “alternative” way by the graphic and imaginative mastery of some of the most famous designers of the Polish Manifesto School: Andrzej Krajewski (Amarcord), Waldemar Swierzy (portrait of Fellini) and Leszek Wisniewski (8 and ½).

The exhibition brings together a series of illustrations by Milo Manara dedicated to the cinema of Fellini: on display, among others, the representations of films such as La Strada, The White Sheik, Amarcord, La dolce Vita, Satyricon: an intense and fruitful dialogue between two Italian masters able to tell the mutual influences and intimate connections that linked the two artists and their respective creative and professional fields
HALF A CENTURY AGO…AMARCORD
Have you ever wanted to revisit the places of childhood and adolescence? It often happens that returning to those places you feel a clear discrepancy between your own mythology of memory and the actual reality. Fellini reworks the myth of his own adolescence in Rimini: in Amarcord the narrative crumbles following the dreams-memories of the director until the breakthrough of the fourth part with the eyes of the performers in the car.
60 YEARS, LA DOLCE VITA
La dolce vita is a real watershed, between the Fellini narrator of the 50s and Fellini open to dreamlike activity: from the visual point of view the film is distinguished by a wise alternation of styles ranging from baroque grace to raw realism, pushing to the maximum the expressive potential of the cinematographic language with daring depth of field, never banal points of view and angles of shooting, and dialogues and music in perfect harmony
